Mission

  • High-quality, problem-solving horticulture and production training is offered at various levels to create professionals with model human traits.
  • Conduct primary and productive applied research in Horticulture
  • Foster partnerships and working relationships with all stakeholders: public, private, and NGOs
  • Making research-derived knowledge and technology available to end users
  • Create a favorable environment for promoting sound scholarship to explore and democratically debate issues of cultural pluralism, tolerance, gender, professionalism, etc.
  • Fostering a multidisciplinary approach in teaching, research, and service provision
  • Creation of networking with national as well as international teaching, research, and development institutions to facilitate skill development and knowledge transfer
  • Support the goals of Wachemo University by extending teaching, research, and service where appropriate to university programs and activities outside the department.
