Research Thematic Areas of Wachemo University


Research that will be conducted by the university should make impact with concrete output and lead to sustainable generation and dissemination of knowledge and technologies. However, conducting research and technology dissemination in a piecemeal way cannot enable us to meet these societal demands. Therefore, research should be prioritized by the needs of the community in a systematic manner. In addition, it’s also important to make a channel limited resources to prioritized the needs. Furthermore, there is a need to integrate research endeavours for synergized impacts on societal development and to enhance the quality of education. Accordingly, Wachemo University has identified six research thematic areas in line with national research priorities and strategies.
